Christmas Celebrations at RIS…..
“Christmas is not so much about opening presents, as opening our hearts!”
Christmas was celebrated on 22nd Dec 2018 at RIS with great fun & frolic. Tiny tots dressed in their party clothes looked vibrated with the echoes of Christmas carols.
The children were told about the birth of Lord Jesus & the legend of Santa Claus. The spirit of giving & sharing was imbibed among the children as they had class wise parties.
A special assembly was also organized to mark the importance of the day. A beautiful dance performance was presented by the senior girls. The Children enjoyed to the beats of ‘Jingle Bells’ & wished Merry Christmas to their friends & teachers.
Principal Mrs.Subha Rathore wished the students & enlightened the students with the useful preachings Of Lord Jesus.

Math week is fantastic opportunity for children to engage in Maths activities, which they may not normally get a chance to experience in a normal lesson.
Over the course of the week, the whole school participated in different Maths activities to challenge their thinking and develop their Maths problem solving skills.
These activities included the following:-
1. Class I Identification of 2D & 3D shapes.
2. Class II Measuring height & Weight.
3. Class III Measuring of length.
4. Class IV Measurement of weight.
5. Class V Measurement of capacity
6. Class VI Area & Perimeter of irregular figure.
7. Class VII Sudoku
8. Class VIII Number of diagonals of a polygon.
9. Class IX Circles & its properties
10. Class X Riddles
The students of class X exhibited a wonderful skit with an aim to remove Maths phobia & responsible factors for the same.
On the concluding day an Inter House Maths Quiz was organized. The quiz was divided into 5 rounds. Students were very excited to answer .Shaurya House emerged as the winner of the competition.
Principal Subha Rathore appreciated the participation & motivated the students to take part in these type of activities in future also.

On the occasion of Christmas the fine Arts Dept. of RIS organized an art activity for the students of class I.The students prepared beautiful Christmas trees & enjoyed a lot.

 

 

Skype session at RIS…

The students of RIS class IX were taken on a VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP on 20th Dec,2018 to “JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK,USA”.
It was a wonderful learning experience for students & they enjoyed also.

Awareness Programme for Adolescent Girls at RIS…

Girl’s education is like sowing the seed to raise the green plants of a charming full grown family which bears fruit.
Today on 19th Dec,2018 health awareness program for the girls students was organised by Rotary Club Ropar in the school at MPR Hall.A renowned gynaecologist Dr.Ravinder kaur Pannu gave a talk to all the girls regarding their personal health & hygiene.
It was a very useful seminar.

 

An Interactive two days Career counselling Session held at RIS

With an objective to provide proper guidance, a two days Career Counselling session was organised on 17th & 18th by school counsellor Mrs.Nainik for the students of class X.
The school has always taken initiative in encouraging its students to take up a career of their choice. It was started with a motivational talk with students & an open discussion on various Career options available in future.
A short career assessment test was conducted on students and on the results, students were guided. The session was highly informative for the students of class X since they were not only introduced to career counselling but the session also led them to understand what their talents were.

 

Winners of Slogan 7 Painting Competition Awarded at RIS

“Every painting is a voyage into a sacred harbour”.
Under the guidance of Rotary Club,a district level Slogan & Painting Competition was organized at RIS on 14th Dec 2018.Many schools of the region participated & RIS set a benchmark in the same.
The students from 5th to 8th had topic ”Grandparents, Parents & me” and 9th to 11th had topic ‘Happiness’. Following is the result:-
